The denial of science in general and climate science in particular is one of the greatest threats to peaceful democratic life that we face.
The perpetuation of the biggest lie by the advocates of continued fossil fuel dependency, the opponents of alternative energy or plain and simple irrational religious fundamentalists flies in the face of enlightenment values. The overwhelming evidence that human activity has affected climate is refuted, not for reasons of policy, but from self-interest, power.
Winning the battle for environmental responsibility on climate but also on biodiversity, pollution and responsible production is essential to addressing central societal problems such as south to north migration as well as to the day to day quality of life of people in developed both urban and rural contexts.
